Montrose manager Stewart Petrie is looking for another fast start at Stirling Albion this afternoon.
An early double set the Links Park men on their way against Edinburgh City last weekend and Petrie knows that there is no better way to settle nerves as they chase the League Two title.
“We started well last weekend and getting a goal in front early settled us down and also settled everyone at the ground down,” he said.
“We scored another one quite early in the game and then saw things out professionally with the third coming late on.”
There will be no lack of motivation for their hosts today, though.
Petrie said: “Stirling will be dangerous opponents as they will be hurting after losing 3-0 at Elgin last weekend.
“They have still to secure their play-off spot so they will come out with an all guns blazing approach against us.
“A good start this time out may just be keeping them at bay.”
Montrose could have been heading to Forthbank with a three-point lead however their midweek trip to Cowdenbeath was called off.
Petrie said: “It was frustrating that the game was postponed as when you have won a game 3-0 you are keen to get going again quickly.
“It was the right decision as we saw a picture of the pitch and there is no point in putting the safety of players in jeopardy.
“We knew in enough time to ensure that our preparations to face a good Stirling side could be adapted.”
Liam Callaghan is a doubt after picking up a knock in training but Iain Campbell is back.
