It’s World Book Day and children have been celebrating their love of reading by dressing up as their favourite characters.

We asked readers to submit photographs of their children in their World Book Day outfits so we can share the fun – and they have done so in their droves.

Pictures have been flooding in of children dressed up as favourites from kids’ literature, including The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Bottomley Potts.

We’ll be publishing as many of them as we can in the Evening Telegraph on Monday.

But before then, here are a just a few which have arrived so far.

If you want to see your children’s World Book Day pictures in the Tele – and be in with a chance of winning our competition – there’s still time to submit them here before the entry deadline of 12pm on Friday.

Our favourite photograph will win a £50 book voucher.
