The second major trailer for a Star Wars prequel chapter has debuted online.
The latest stand-alone movie (if we’re counting 1984’s Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure) illustrates the story of how the rebel alliance succeeds in securing plans for the Death Star.
Starring English actress Felicity Jones (Inferno) alongside Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland) and Mads Mikkelsen (Pusher, Hannibal), the picture was directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla). Conflicted arch villain Darth Vader (voiced once again by James Earl Jones) is set to return.
Besides episodes VIII and IX of the sci-fi saga, future films depicting the early exploits of opposing mercenaries Han Solo and Boba Fett are also on the cards, with franchise veteran Ewan MacGregor recently suggesting he’d be happy to reprise his role as Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi for a two-parter.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is due for release on December 16.
