Arbroath lifeboat crews went to the assistance of a stricken yacht off the Angus coast in a weekend call-out.
The alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon when the crew of the 40-foot vessel made a call for help just after 3pm.
Both the inshore and all-weather boats were launched and found the yacht under sail after it had suffered mechanical failure.
All six people on board were fit and well and a tow line to the all-weather lifeboat Inchcape was set up for the yacht to be towed back to the safety of Arbroath marina, where they were met by teams from Angus and Dundee Coastguard.
