Police have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a man on an Angus beach on Sunday.
The 40-year-old’s body was discovered by a member of the public on a grassy banking at Arbroath’s South Street just before 6pm.
A section of the foreshore was cordoned off while investigations into the grim find were completed.
The deceased’s name has not been released but The Courier understands the man was a foreign national who was living locally.
“Police Scotland attended at the beach near South Street, Arbroath at about 5.55pm on Sunday August 21 in connection with the death of a 40-year-old man, there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal,” said a spokesperson.
