Two women, 88 and 90, have been taken to hospital after a car flipped on its roof in a Monifieth crash.
Locals say the occupants of the white vehicle were lucky to escape after it landed on its roof on Well Street on Wednesday afternoon.
Officers, who rushed to the scene shortly after 2pm, say that the car collided with a stationary vehicle before overturning.
The extent of any injuries sustained is unknown at this stage, but onlookers reported seeing the two women walking into an ambulance.
‘Huge bang’ heard during Monifieth crash
One woman said: “I was in the back garden when I heard a huge bang.
“When I went outside I saw the car on its roof. There were two ladies trapped in it upside down.
“They wanted to climb out but we encouraged them to stay put until emergency services arrived.
“Another neighbour called for an ambulance. They were able to assist the ladies out of the car.
“They were able to walk straight to the ambulance.”
A man who lives on the street said: “The emergency services were here for quite a while.
“There were two police cars, two ambulances and two fire engines.
“Nothing like this has happened on Well Street before – not since I’ve lived here anyway.”
