A man is due to appear in court on Friday on a charge of attempted murder following an incident in Stonehaven this week.
Police Scotland said a 28-year-old man has now been charged in relation to an incident which led to part of the town’s High Street being closed off on Wednesday evening.
A 21-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he is currently being treated for serious injuries.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “This has been a contained incident and I would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation and patience while enquiries were progressed.
“We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the High Street area around 7pm on Wednesday May 16 to come forward with any information.
“Police Scotland can be contacted on 101 using reference number 3601 of May 16.”
