A man who subjected three women to a catalogue of domestic abuse has been jailed for three years.
James Combe, 38, spat in the face of one of his former partners and threw boiled eggs at another.
He was convicted of three charges after a five-day trail at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and was brought back for sentencing on October 31.
Sheriff Jamie Gilchrist described Combe’s behaviour as “utterly disgraceful”, adding: “He showed no respect whatsoever for any of these women”.
Combe, of Sidlaw Street in Kirkcaldy, was found guilty of assaulting a former partner, while the pair were in a relationship, at an address in Glenrothes on various occasions in February 2015.
He prevented the woman from leaving, pushed her on the body, seized her by the body and threw her to the ground, causing her to strike her head on a table all to her injury.
He was also found guilty of assaulting another former partner on March 19, 2016, at an address in Glenrothes, by biting her finger, grabbing her by the body, slamming her against a wall and throwing boiled eggs at her, all to her injury.
The third charge related to another relationship during which he had abused his partner.
He was found guilty of assaulting a third woman on various occasions between April 1, 2016, and June 30, 2018, both dates inclusive at various locations in Kirkcaldy and while the couple were staying at a hotel in Glasgow.
Combe repeatedly grabbed the woman on the body and pushed her to the floor. He repeatedly grabbed her by the neck and spat in her face. He also threw a can at her and poured the contents of a tin of beer over her.
He repeatedly kicked his victim on the body, head-butted her on the face, attempted to bite her nose, grabbed her by the neck, pushed her against a wall and threw her to the floor and over a bed all to her injury.
The offences against the third woman were committed while he was on bail.
A defence solicitor for Combe said: “He did accept that there was a lack of respect in these relationships.”
And the solicitor said his client had “difficulty accepting culpability” for his offending.
Sheriff Gilchrist jailed Combe for three years, with a supervised release order of 12 months.
He also imposed a seven-year non-harassment order in relation to his most recent victim.
The sheriff told him: “The way you treated not one but three partners is utterly disgraceful.”
