A 30-year-old man has been visited 15 times by police after he was caught downloading child abuse images at his workplace.
A court heard officers regularly turned up at Matthew McCann’s home to check he has been adhering to strict bail conditions over his internet use.
McCann was caught with child sex abuse images at the offices of civil engineering company Kilmac Ltd in Perth between November 22 and 27 2017.
Perth Sheriff Court was told that McCann, of Blackness Road, Dundee, had been dismissed by the company.
Solicitor David Holmes said: “He has been on bail since April 2018 and has been subject to regular visits by police officers.
“They check that he hasn’t been doing anything with the internet that he shouldn’t be and there have been 10 to 15 visits carried out.
“His mother was at pains to say the officers have always been very courteous, polite and pleasant and nothing has been found during these checks.”
McCann, who admitted having indecent images at his work, has been ordered to complete the Moving Forward, Making Changes programme.
He has also been ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work in the community and has been placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Sheriff Gillian Wade said: “Viewing indecent images is a serious offence as children somewhere are being seriously abused in the making of these images.”
