A predator who molested his young victims while babysitting as a family friend has been told to expect a lengthy jail term.
James Hocking was trusted by the mother of his victims, who cannot be named for legal reasons, to look after two girls under the age of 12 in 2010.
Hocking took advantage of the trust placed in him to devastating effect, sexually abusing his young victims while they were left alone at home with him.
Depute fiscal Eilidh Robertson told Dundee Sheriff Court Hocking had been left to look after the girls and committed the heinous sex acts on them while their mother was out at work, only stopping once he heard the front door buzzer ring.
Shocked gasps could be heard in the public gallery as the depraved acts Hocking carried out on his defenceless victims were read out.
Hocking abused both girls by touching their private parts while alone with them and made them carry out a sex act on him.
One of his victims told police she did what she said because she had been made to feel she “had to”.
The court heard both girls revealed to their mother years later what had happened while they were left in his care. One of his victims was nine when the abuse took place.
One of the children became upset after seeing Hocking in Dundee city centre years after the abuse took place, prompting her to tell her mother what had occurred.
Hocking, who lived in homeless men’s shelters in England prior to his arrest in Cheshire earlier this year, pleaded guilty to four charges committed between 2010 and 2013 at various addresses in Dundee.
The 35-year-old appeared from custody clad in joggers and a fleece and remained emotionless as the charges were read out to him.
His defence solicitor John Boyle made no motion for bail.
Sheriff Alastair Carmichael deferred sentence until October 31 for reports and placed Hocking on the sex offenders register.
Hocking was taken back into custody where he will remain until he is sentenced.
