A row between two mums over an iPod believed to have gone missing during a “play date” landed one of the women in court.
Ashley Muir cracked Lecia Horsburgh’s jaw during a bust-up on King David Street in Anstruther.
Muir, 32, had gone to talk to the other mum about the missing device when tempers flared, Dundee Sheriff Court heard.
Procurator Fiscal Depute Lora Apostolova said: “It appears that an iPod went missing after a play date.
“The accused had made attempts to contact the complainer to see if they had found it.
“At around 3.30pm on August 23 the complainer went to the accused’s front door to speak to her.
“The complainer tried to explain that it wasn’t her son that had taken the iPod.
“An argument started, which escalated.”
As Ms Horsburgh turned to walk away, Muir went behind her and punched her.
Ms Apostolova added: “It is the accused’s position that before the assault the complainer had pushed her, which caused her to lose her temper and run after her.”
Ms Horsburgh’s injuries included a cracked upper jaw, a loose tooth and bleeding.
Muir, of King David Street, pled guilty to assault to severe injury.
A not guilty plea to behaving in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence was accepted by the court.
Sheriff Hughes deferred sentencing until May 10 for criminal justice and social work reports and a restriction of liberty order assessment.
