The killer of Broughty Ferry woman Katy Rourke has been allowed to move prisons because he feared being assaulted by other inmates at Low Moss near Glasgow..
Gary Stevenson, 27, brutally murdered 25-year-old Katy, who was his flatmate, in December 2015 after she refused to have sex with him.
He was ordered to serve at least 17 years in prison for stabbing Katy to death.
A post-mortem revealed she had been stabbed through the heart.
Stevenson began his sentence at Low Moss prions in Bishopbriggs near Glasgow but asked to be moved to the protection wing because he feared he would be targeted by other inmates.
He spent three weeks in the protection win before being transferred to Dumfries Prison.
