Police release man in stabbing inquiry

Police have released a man who was arrested in connection with a stabbing in Dundee on Thursday.

A 26-year-old man had been detained after a man had been stabbed in broad daylight on Alexander Street at around 12.30pm on Thursday.

He was released from custody on Friday and police have said their enquiries were ongoing.

A 20-year-old man was injured in Thursday’s incident and was treated by paramedics on the scene before being taken to Ninewells for treatment.

His injuries were not believed to be life threatening.
