The driver is understood to have seen the incident on Tullideph Road at 2.45am on Friday, May 19. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment following the assault. The taxi driver, who was driving a blue wheelchair-accessible cab, alerted police after stopping the officers in Blyth Place. Officers are keen to speak to anyone else who may have witnessed the assault which involved two bare-chested men. Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Tayside division on 101 quoting CR/12857/17 or speak to any police officer. Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
