A high-value Land Rover stolen from a Dundee dealership has been left torched in a “car graveyard”.
Two vehicles have been dumped on Jack Martin Way, near Fintry, in recent weeks.
One of them is one of the three Land Rovers taken during a raid on John Clark Motor Group on Lundie Avenue.
Police launched a probe when the luxury vehicles worth more than £140,000 were taken on April 12.
The origin of the other vehicle left on Jack Martin Way is unclear – and it is not known what happened to the other two stolen Land Rovers.
Dog walkers in the area say the are has regularly been a dumping ground for abandoned vehicles.
One 39-year-old man, who did not want to be identified, told The Courier: “These cars have been sitting here for weeks.
“They’re just sitting to the rear of the land close to the Powrie Bar – it’s always been an area where cars are torched.
Police interviewing locals
“You could only imagine how much these cars were worth – you’re talking thousands and thousands of pounds.
“It’s a car graveyard now as well as a dog walking spot.
“I’m up here every night and the cars appeared within a day or so of each other.
“I know folk who live locally and I’m aware police have been interviewing those living nearby.”
Another dog walker – who also asked to remain anonymous – said: “I couldn’t give an exact timeline as to when they were here but there were CID officers looking at both the cars.
“It’s some mess, but given the location it’s largely out of sight.
“In the evening, Jack Martin Way is used by truckers as a place to park up – aside from that it’s quiet.
“I’m not really sure why the vehicles wouldn’t have been uplifted yet – it’s been weeks now.”
Police Scotland says inquiries into the raid on the Land Rover dealership are ongoing.
John Clark Motor Group has so far not commented on the thefts.
