A man is being treated for possible hypothermia after being rescued from the Dighty water this morning.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 9am after a man was seen in a state of distress.
The incident happened near the Seven Arches bridge between Monifieth and Broughty Ferry and police, ambulance and fire rescue units raced to the scene.
A spokesman for Police Scotland confirmed officers attended at around 9.12am.
“We were called out due to concerns for a man that was in the water,” he said. “He is now out of the water and is being treated for cold and possible hypothermia.
“At this stage, we don’t know why he was there but he has said he felt very weak. As you can imagine, the water would have been very cold at this time of year.”
An ambulance has also arrived at the scene.
The area is criss-crossed with nature trails and is popular with dog walkers.
