The Tay Road Bridge is at a standstill as cyclists gather on the Dundee waterfront for the first ever Women’s Tour of Scotland cycle race.
The bridge is currently closed for traffic as cyclists gear up for the launch of the event.
Olympian Katie Archibald is due to lead the Scottish team as they take on some of women’s cycling’s elite groups from around the world in a battle for the inaugural Baillie Gifford leader’s jersey.
Teams are leaving the first stage from Dundee’s Slessor Gardens on Friday at 12.15pm before heading to Fife over the Tay Road Bridge and travelling through Cupar, Falkland and Leslie.

They will then cross into the Kinross area before racing back to West Fife, where the first stage will end at Pittencrieff Park in Dunfermline.
First stage of Women’s Tour of Scotland called off due to ‘extreme weather conditions’ in Fife
Stage two will leave from George Square in Glasgow on Saturday and finish at the council chambers in Perth.
The final stage begins from Edinburgh on Sunday and will start and finish at Holyrood Park and take participants on a 118km heat through the Scottish borders.
