A Fife harbour known for its scenic cricket matches has hosted another unique sporting event.
Elie beach provided the backdrop for the inaugural Scotland’s Cavalry Polo Tournament on Saturday.
Hosted by the Ship Inn, the event saw polo clubs from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards pitted against Scottish and North Irish Yeomanry (SNIY) and St Andrews University.
The winners were the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
The students finished in third place, although Rebecca Kerr-Jarrett from the university team was named player of the tournament.
St Andrews University’s club trains at Kinross Polo Club and are no stranger to beach chukkas, with sessions often held on the West Sands.
