Popular Race for Life events in aid of Cancer UK has been cancelled, the charity has announced.
Fundraisers at Camperdown Park in Dundee and Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy had already been rescheduled but organisers have now decided to pull the plug on it entirely for this year.
People who had already signed up will be contacted directly.
It is hoped they will go ahead in 2021.
In the meantime, Cancer Research UK has urged anyone due to take part to complete a Race for Life challenge at home to raise much-needed cash for the charity.
The events are among 400 Races for Life cancelled across the UK as restrictions on mass gatherings due to the covid-19 pandemic continue.
They both included a 5k, 10k and Pretty Mudder obstacle course.
Cancer Research UK said it expects to see its fundraising income decline by up to 25% in the next financial year as a direct result of coronavirus.
Lisa Adams, Cancer Research UK spokeswoman in Scotland said: “We remain tirelessly committed to making progress for people affected by cancer but now more than ever, support from the public will be vital.
“We simply will not be able to continue funding our life-saving work without it.
“We hope the Race for Life event series will be back bigger and stronger than ever in 2021.
“In the meantime, we’d love to invite as many people as possible to join us by taking part in Race for Life at Home in these challenging times.”
