NHS Fife has confirmed that an individual with links to Kirkcaldy High School has become the latest to test positive for Covid-19.

The case is said to be isolating at home with other household members.

While there is no evidence of transmission within the school, a small number of pupils have been identified as contacts.

Officials have contacted those pupils individually and they have been asked to self-isolate for 14 days as a precautionary measure.

Meanwhile, NHS Fife has also provided an update on the case identified at Woodmill High School in Dunfermline.

That individual is similarly isolating at home with other household members, and pupils there who may have come into contact with the person have been contacted and told to self-isolate.

A spokesperson for NHS Fife added: “In addition to the already enhanced cleaning measures the school has been given a thorough clean, with fogging of all the necessary areas taking place last night.”

Anyone who develops any of the established symptoms of the virus, such as a fever; or a loss or change in taste or smell; or a new and continuous cough, should arrange testing using the UK Government Citizens’ Portal at https://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test or by calling 0800 028 2816.
