A Kirkcaldy man who died in a Perthshire motorcycle accident has been described as a “perfect father.”

Tomasz Nowak suffered fatal injuries when the motorbike he was riding collided with a van near Perth Racecourse on Sunday.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the 33-year-old, who lived in the Gallatown area of Kirkcaldy with his wife and daughter.

There was no answer when The Courier visited the property in Lawson Gardens on Tuesday, however friends have taken to social media to pay their respects.

Dominika Podolska commented: “Tom was the perfect friend, brother, husband, father.

“What happened to him is not fair.”

A keen motorcyclist, Mr Nowak, originally from Kalisz in Poland, is known to have worked at GT Autocare, a car workshop in Kirkcaldy’s Mitchelston Industrial Estate.

A member of the staff at the company said that they did not wish to comment on Mr Nowak’s death, but that he did know Mr Nowak “very well” and had been upset following the tragic accident.

Meanwhile, friends have started a fundraising effort to help the family with funeral expenses, with many having travelled to Old Scone on Monday, where the fatal accident occurred, to light a candle in memory of their friend.

David Brodowski, who organised the vigil, added: “Tom, you’re still and will be among us. I’ll never forget you.”

Meanwhile, police officers have renewed an appeal for witnesses as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Sunday’s collision.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Inquiries into the full set of circumstances of the incident are ongoing and Tayside Division would appeal for anyone who may have information that could assist officers with their inquiries to contact us on 101.

“As with all sudden deaths, a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
