A fundraiser has been launched for a Fife family struck by a second blaze tragedy.
Eckhardt Morhulec died when fire swept through his home in Oakley on August 24.
His partner Sharon Comiskey was left in a critical condition and remains in hospital.
A JustGiving page set up by Renee Foy, of Oakley, aims to raise £1,000 to help their son Jake Morhulec and the family through their grief.
Jake’s two brothers and his grandmother were killed in a house fire in the same village 27 years ago.
Donations were already nearing £750 on Monday.
Renee said: “In his [Jake’s] own words this is a living nightmare.”
Jake has also voiced his gratitude to both the emergency services and those who had supported him.
A message on his Facebook page thanked people for their kind messages at a difficult time.
He said: “Just like to thank all family and friends for everything they are doing for me as well.
“Would also like to take time to thank emergency services for everything they done.
“They definitely don’t get the recognition they deserve.”
The home of Eckhardt, known as Eck, and Sharon in Thorn Tree Place burned in the early hours last Saturday morning.
Six fire appliances from across the region, including Dunfermline, Lochgelly, Alloa and Larbert, were dispatched to tackle the fire, understood to have started around 5am.
The alarm was raised by neighbours who woke to see smoke coming from the house and desperately banged on the door and windows until firefighters arrived.
Jake’s brothers were aged only four and 18 months when their home in Sir George Bruce Road went on fire in 1992 and they perished along with their grandmother.
Inquiries were launched by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to establish the circumstances surrounding last weekend’s fatal blaze.
