VisitScotland has released its biggest ever guide to filming locations of the popular television series, Outlander, featuring stunning locations in Fife and Perthsire.
Drummond Gardens, in Crieff, Dysart Harbour, near Kirkcaldy, and The Reaper ship, berthed at the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther, all feature in the guide.
It contains 11 new locations in Scotland which were filmed during season two, on top of the original 18 season one locations released previously.
The free guide, published online, coincides with the DVD release of the second series of the British-American drama this coming Monday October 31.
Edith Barnes, head gardner at Drummond Gardens, which doubled as the famous Palace of Versailles, said it was rewarding to see the hard work of staff paying off.
“The team here puts a lot of effort into making the gardens look their best and we’re delighted that fans of the series got to see them on screen in all their glory,” she said.
“We hope visitors will see the hard work for themselves and maybe even be transported to another place and era through their beauty.”
The TV-series is inspired by the historical time-travel drama series of books by American author Diana Gabaldon and stars Irish actress Caitriona Balfe and Scot Sam Heughan.
Other areas of Scotland which feature in the guide include Dean Castle in Kilmarnock, Drumlanrig Castle in Dumries and Galloway, and Gosford House in East Lothian.

“It says a great deal for the versatility of Scotland’s architectural heritage that our historic buildings have doubled for the likes of Versailles and Le Havre.
“Our Outlander map has proved incredibly popular and, now that we have updated it with locations from series two, we hope even more fans will use it to follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Claire.”
