Former US president Barack Obama made a surprise appearance in St Andrews this morning, taking to the Old Course for a round of golf.
He headed straight for the world’s oldest and most iconic golf links ahead of a charity dinner in Edinburgh tonight, organised by The Hunter Foundation.
He mingled with the crowds, speaking to – and shaking hands with – total strangers on what has been one of the hottest days of the year.
We followed him from the 12th hole onward to check out his golf skills.
By the time Mr Obama approached the 18th hole of the course, thousands of people had gathered to watch his final swings.
