‘We will miss her so much’: Family pays tribute to woman who died in fatal Fife crash

Police in Fife have confirmed the identity of a woman who died following a fatal crash on Thursday.

Michelle Russell, from Alva, Clackmannanshire, was killed when her Vauxhall Astra was involved in a collision with a trailer being towed by a Land Rover Discovery near the Saline Hotel at around 10am on the day in question.

The 38-year-old sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the best efforts of paramedics.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, Michelle’s family said: ” Michelle was a loved daughter, sister and auntie.

“We will miss her so much and would appreciate complete privacy for the family.”

The B913 Saline to Dollar road was closed for most of the day as collision investigators tried to piece together what happened, and a probe into the accident is still ongoing.

Sergeant Ewan Pearce, from Fife’s Road Policing Unit, said: “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies remain with Michelle’s family at this very difficult time and our inquiries into the full circumstances of this collision continue.

“If you were on the B913 road at the Saline Hotel at around 10am on Thursday and witnessed what happened, or have any other information relevant to our investigation, then please contact police immediately.”
