A league of superheroes has assembled in a Perthshire village.
Residents in Inchture have welcomed a host of colourful characters into their front gardens, as excitement builds for the village’s comic book-themed summer gala.
Families are invited to follow a trail around the area to search for well known faces like Batman, Superman, Spiderman and Iron Man.
Maps for the village’s first Superhero Challenge are on sale at the Olly Bobbins florist and gift shop, with all proceeds going towards gala funds.
Anyone who can correctly name all the heroes in the village will get their names added to a prize draw.
Shopkeeper Paul McFawns, who is also chairman of the fete committee, said: “This year’s village fete will have a superhero theme and we thought this would be a great, fun way to build anticipation.
“We wanted to do something a bit different for this year.
“The response has been incredible with so many people agreeing to take part.
“Some of the characters are really creative. People have put a lot of work into them.
“We put up Leonardo from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outside our shop, but there’s many others that put our efforts to shame.
“It has been a great show of community spirit and the feedback we have been getting from customers has been fantastic.”
The trail has been supported by local Labour councillor Alasdair Bailey.
“It’s great to see the community coming together to support the fete,” he said.

The waterproof super heroes – and villains – go on display for two weeks and there will be an award for the best one.
The village fete takes place on June 8 and runs from 1pm to 4pm.
Local primary pupil Lois Kennedy won a poster competition, featuring her own superhero design, to help publicise the event.
