A career criminal who rifled through changing rooms to steal nearly £1,000 worth of phones from footballers was jailed for six months.
Steven Flynn, who previously broke into a Premiership ground, targeted the players while they were training.
He was jailed at Perth Sheriff Court after he admitted stealing two iPhones and a wallet and its contents from the Letham FC changing facility.
Flynn – who has previously been caught breaking into St Johnstone’s McDiarmid Park – was identified from CCTV.
Fiscal depute Mairi Graham told Perth Sheriff Court: “This was the changing rooms at Seven Acres Pavilion in Perth.
“Witnesses were playing football in the playing field next to it. They had got ready for a training session and left their phones and wallets in the changing room.
“The manager of the facility was made aware of a male acting suspiciously. CCTV was checked and the accused was the only person who was seen to enter.”
Among the items taken was an £800 phone.
Flynn, 32, from Perth, admitted stealing items from the sports complex on November 5. He admitted stealing fragrance from Boots the same day, and taking cash from Perth Theatre on November 8.
Solicitor David Holmes, defending, said his client had “a tragic family history” and had suffered from a drug problem.
