Part of a Perth street was sealed off on Tuesday morning by police investigating reports of a disturbance.
Officers were called to an address in the city centre but quickly concluded “nothing untoward” had taken place.
A cordon was placed around a section of pavement outside a block of flats. Broken glass could seen inside the taped off section, which police said was from a broken window in the flats.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “We attended in South Street, Perth, shortly before midday today.
“Although there were initial reports of a disturbance, officers attending found that nothing untoward had taken place, however a window had been broken accidentally by a resident.
“The area immediately in front of the building was taped off to prevent any passers by being injured by falling glass until the window could be boarded up.”
