Raith boss Gary Locke has revealed that two experienced players are edging closer to full fitness.
Defender Craig Barr has been missing all season while midfielder Scott Robertson last played on August 6 against Ayr.
Both have been sidelined after groin ops but Locke is delighted they are finally reaping the reward after weeks of gruelling rehab.
The Stark’s Park boss, who watched his side snatch a late win against Queen of the South on Saturday evening, said: “Craig’s had a check-up and he’s started jogging again, which is great for him.
“There’s a wee bit of light at the end of the tunnel for all those lads.
“Scott Robertson has started kicking the ball again, so I’m hopeful he’ll be able to join the group this week for training.
“It’s been a long slog for them and it’s certainly difficult. I’ve been there myself with a long-term injury and sometimes you don’t feel part of it.
“But that’s one thing myself and Darren (assistant boss Jackson) have tried to do, we’ve always tried to make the point of speaking to these lads in the morning and keeping their heads up.
“And they’ve worked extremely hard, so I’ll be delighted for them, personally, when they do get back in with the rest of the lads for training.
“It’s a hard slog but you get your rewards when you get back training at the end of it.”
