Cowdenbeath welcome League Two leaders Forfar to Central Park in good spirits despite a four-game unbeaten run ending when they lost 2-0 to Annan last weekend.
Manager Liam Fox remained upbeat, saying: “It was actually a very good display at Galabank but we did not get what we deserved.
“We passed the ball about well and showed a lot of energy but we never took any of the chances that we created.”
“The score-line does not look good but it was another step in the right direction.
“Over the past month we have been improving in every game and the display at Galabank was another step in the right direction.
“We were disappointed at not winning or at least taking something from the game but the feeling afterwards was different to how we felt a couple of months ago.
“Then it was a bit of doom and gloom.
“However, last Saturday we felt that we had played well and that we have a platform to build on.”
The good feeling in Fife will be tested against the Loons, with Fox saying: “We need to keep our development going in the game against Forfar.
“They will have been disappointed at losing to Arbroath at the weekend but they bounced back in the best possible way by defeating Annan 5-1 in midweek.
“Gary Bollan is a manager that I know well from my time at Livingston and he is a good manager.
“I will need to come up with a way to outsmart him.
“I have given the players the same message that I give them every week in that every game in this league is winnable if they play well and take their chances.”
An illness bug that hit the Blue Brazil’s dressing room earlier this week has passed with only long-term injury absentee Kenny Adamson missing.
