Brechin manager Darren Dods is hoping that his side can build on an impressive performance against Championship leaders St Mirren and secure their first win of the season by defeating visitors Morton.
The Glebe Park men went down 2-1 late on in Paisley and Dods is looking for his men to take confidence from that game into their match with the Greenock outfit.
He explained: “We fell behind early at St Mirren but we worked our way back into the game.
“We were holding our own and looking dangerous on the break right up until 15 minutes from the end.
“They brought on three strikers and sacrificed a defender. That put us under more pressure and we looked like we would see things out until a cross was deflected to one of their players and that led to a goal.
“It was a disappointing way for the game to end but we have to take confidence from the way we played.”
Dods is looking for a similar effort against Morton.
“We are not that far away but it will be tough,” he added. “They are a side I know well from my time at Forfar when we ran them close to the League One title.
“They have kept a good crop of those players and added quality in Gary Harkins and Robert Thomson. Gary and I were both involved in Dave Mackay’s Testimonial at Dens Park last week and he was spraying passes all over the pitch.
“Robert played at Brechin and we know how good he is but hopefully we can show that we are a good side as well. After doing so well for 75 minutes in Paisley it would be great to do well for 90 minutes in Brechin.”
Chris O’Neil and Andy Jackson remain out.
