Raith boss John McGlynn has made another summer signing with the addition of the versatile Michael Miller.

The former Celtic, Morton and Livingston midfielder joined Brechin in March after nearly two years out with a knee problem.

Now the 24-year-old has moved to Stark’s Park on a one-year deal with McGlynn also understood to be close to snapping up a French defender who has impressed while on trial at the club.

The manager said: “Michael offers us versatility – he can play defensive midfield, full-back and can cover at centre-back if required.

“He has a great pedigree and grounding in the game.

“At Livingston he was unfortunate to suffer a bad injury when he was playing very well, but fought back to feature for Brechin and did well there.

“He’s a young player with a lot of good football in him for the future.”

However, as Miller arrived, there was another departure at Stark’s with goalie Dean Lyness having his contract terminated after failing to agree new terms.

The former St Mirren keeper played 13 times for Rovers last season after joining the club in January.

With first-choice stopper Robbie Thomson still out after Achilles surgery, McGlynn is running the rule over Aaron Lennox who had two previous spells at Raith.
