A Perthshire hotel has been named the best in Scotland for the third year running, according to TripAdvisor research.

The Green Park Hotel in Pitlochry has been voted the top Scottish hotel – and 12th in the UK – in TripAdvisor’s Best of the Best Top Hotels for 2023.

It is the third year running the hotel has been named Scotland’s finest. It also claimed the prize in 2021 and 2022.

The hotel, which overlooks Loch Faskally, received a five-star score from more than 91% of guests on TripAdvisor.

It is the only Scottish entrant on the list, which is topped by Shangri-La The Shard in London.

A total of 17 of the top 25 hotels are in London.

Ivybank Lodge named one of UK’s best

Elsewhere, the TripAdvisor research shows Ivybank Lodge in Blairgowrie is the best Scottish hotel – and fourth in the UK overall – in the Best Luxury Hotels section.

It has also been ranked among the top 10 in the UK in the Small Hotels category.

Ivybank Lodge has had more than £300,000 invested by owners Gary Hack and Nigel Robinson since they bought the premises in 2016.

It has almost 400 reviews on the travel rating site, with over 98% of those rating them excellent (five stars).

It was also ranked the number one destination in the UK for small stays by TripAdvisor.

The owners said they were “overwhelmed” with the success of their first business venture.

Meanwhile another Perthshire venue, Glenshieling House, also in Blairgowrie, ranks ninth in the Small Hotels list.

The Victorian villa was built in 1893 and is set within its own private gardens and three acres of woodland.
