[[success]] Email address Sign up A van driver managed to escape from his blazing vehicle after it caught fire at Laurencekirk. The tyre of the white van went up in flames on the A90 around 8.15am and emergency services were scrambled. The man managed to pull in and got out of the vehicle as smoke filled the carriageway before police closed the road. The three-tonne van was well alight by the time firefighters from Stonehaven and Laurencekirk arrived. The road was shut heading northbound between Laurencekirk and Fordoun, but reopened around 10.30am The man was not injured as a result of the fire. Already a subscriber?
