Perth Sheriff Court round-up graphic

A Fife mum whose amphetamine enterprise may have drawn in more than £1 million must pay back £1,590.

Julie Chalmers appeared by video link at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court for a confiscation hearing.

Chalmers was sentenced to two years in prison in February after she admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs from her Kirkcaldy home.

The 30-year-old was ordered to pay the four-figure sum by Sheriff Alastair Brown.

More than 3kg of amphetamines seized were valued at between £16,770 and £36,310 but experts believe the saddlebags of drugs she had been receiving over a prolonged period of time could have been valued at £1,440,000.

Rapist jailed

A former farmworker from Fife who raped three women during a catalogue of violence and abuse has been jailed for a total of 45 months. Luke Bertorelli was convicted of a total of 11 charges, including three rapes.

Luke Bertorelli was jailed.

Drugs charges

A man and woman face allegations they were involved in the supply of cocaine from their home in Kinross.

Martin Reilly, 41, and Poppy Forrest, 24, are accused of dealing at the Green Park property on various occasions between June 15 and July 29 last year.

They are further accused of possession of heroin, cannabis, Gabapentinoids and opioid Buprenorphine.

Reilly is also accused of intentionally obstructing police by refusing to remove concealed items.

Neither appeared at Perth Sheriff Court when their case called on Friday.

Solicitor David Holmes confirmed a not guilty plea from Reilly.

He will stand trial on December 6, with an intermediate hearing on November 17.

Agents for Forrest are still awaiting her instructions, the court heard. Her case was continued without plea until July 15.

Pensioner sex pest

A Fife pensioner slapped one of his carers on the bottom just a few months after asking another if she would “get in bed with him”. Wheelchair user David Seaman, 79, pled guilty to sexually assaulting one of the women and communicating indecently with another by making sexualised comments towards her at his home.

David Seaman is helped from Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Rape accused

Ronald Davidson, 52, from Kirkcaldy, has appeared on petition accused of rape.

Davidson made no plea at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court and was released on bail.

He also faces two charges of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour.

The case was continued for further examination.
