Calvin Harris fan from Perth admits bail breach by trying to get gig tickets

Calvin Harris.
Lovie breached bail by contacting her ex to get her Cavin Harris tickets.

A 22-year-old woman has admitted breaking her bail conditions – by trying to get her hands on a pair of Calvin Harris tickets.

Sinead Lovie broke a ban on contacting her former partner by messaging him to demand the return of her concert tickets.

Fiscal depute Sarah Wilkinson said Lovie sent a text message demanding the tickets for the superstar DJ from Michael O’Brien.

They were for a friend called Lucy, Perth Sheriff Court heard.

Lovie wrote: “Hope you’re happy with yourself. Lucy needs those tickets.

“Give them to her. I don’t care about mine.

“Give her those tickets.”

Mr O’Brien recognised the number as Lovie’s and reported the illicit contact on July 2 this year.

Officers arrived to quiz Lovie and she asked them: “Is this about Lucy’s tickets?

“I texted Michael. I panicked and texted him.”

Tickets were ‘hot topic’

Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said: “Calvin Harris tickets were the hot topic.

“The friend – Lucy – was expecting them as a birthday gift.

“Having left the house she was seeking to recover both of the tickets and post them on to her friend.”

Sheriff James Macdonald said: “The essence of this offence is a single electronic communication.

“In light of that I am going to defer sentence.

“Having heard the facts I take the view that it would be disproportionate to impose a non-harassment order.”

Lovie, or Balvaird Place, Perth, admitted breaching bail – which had been imposed on March 18 – by sending a single text message to her ex-boyfriend.

Sentence was deferred.
