The man was arrested and released without charge while officers investigate the incidents.

He was involved in a disturbance with two women at a pub in Lochee High Street at around 3:45pm on Wednesday last week.

The women have yet to be identified and police are urging them to come forward.

They described one of the women as being in her 30s, with long dark hair which she wore in a ponytail. The other woman has shoulder length hair and was wearing tracksuit trousers and a t-shirt.

A second incident occurred in South Road, near Lidl, a short time later where the 48-year-old man was assaulted by a group of people. He suffered a head injury and was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

Officers are appealing for assistance in identifying those involved.

The first was a man who was described as aged 25 to 30 years old, with fair hair and approximately 6ft tall. He was wearing a grey hooded top and grey jogging trousers.

There was also a woman, aged 25 to 30 years old, with dirty brown hair, around 5ft 5in tall and of large build. She was wearing a red and white top with blue jeans.

A second woman involved in the incident in South Road was also described as aged between 25 and 30 years old, with dark hair.

The fourth person police are trying to identify is a man around 6ft tall, who was wearing a blue top, golden pendant and dark trousers. He had a black and white Staffie dog.
