Deliveroo reveals the top five most popular takeaways in Dundee

Deliveroo has marked its four-year anniversary of operating in Dundee by revealing the takeaways it delivers most.

The dish ordered most frequently by hungry locals is the Chicken noodle box from Dr Noodles with the bacon cheeseburger by Five Guys in second place.

The most popular type of food ordered by Dundonians is Chinese, followed by American and German.

Data from the firm shows Saturday at 7:49pm is the most popular time for Dundee locals to order food.

The company said it has created work for 120 people since starting its Dundee operation in 2016, with the majority of staff being Deliveroo riders who deliver food within 30 minutes.

A total of 70 restaurants in the city use the platform with 60% being independent operators.

Harison Foster, regional director for the UK, said: “Our whole team here at Deliveroo are delighted that our rapid growth in Dundee over the past four years means that customers have more choice, restaurants are able to increase their revenue, and riders have the opportunity to choose well-paid, flexible work.”

Stuart Crichton, owner of Dr Noddles, said: “It’s tough out there for all takeaway business at the moment but this is great news.

“The chicken noodle box is incredibly popular because it offers fantastic value for £8.

“It’s a healthy alternative to most of the takeaways out there but it still tastes great.”
