Trains between Dundee and Aberdeen cancelled due to line flooding

Trains have been cancelled between Dundee and Aberdeen due to flooding on the railway line.

The flood water has been reported between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven but services on the whole route were cancelled on Thusday evening.

Flooding between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven is to blame.

Network Rail engineers are currently inspecting the area.

It comes after a yellow weather warning was issued for the east of Scotland, due to be upgraded to amber at midnight.

Replacement buses have been arranged, with the first due in Dundee at 7pm.

Netwrok Rail said on Twitter: We’ve had a report of flooding on the line between Laurencekirk and Stonehaven.

“Our track team are on their way, but we’ve closed the line until we’ve inspected the area.

“Thanks for your patience if your journey is affected this evening.”
