Firefighters were called to a street in Dundee on Saturday afternoon following reports of a house fire.
The fire, which was reported to the emergency services at 4.54pm, broke out at a property on Troon Place.
It’s understood neighbours raised the alarm before four appliances were dispatched to the incident in the Ardler area of the city.
Crews remained on scene for over six hours and used two hose reel jets to quell the fire.
One man told The Courier flames were visible from the roof of the address as firefighters tackled the blaze.
‘It looked really bad’
He said: “I saw the flames coming through the roof where it had melted or collapsed from the fire.
“More firies were arriving and hurrying to the property with their breathing apparatus on.
“I saw then going back for their ladders to reach the roof space.
“There was a few folk out in the street watching what was unfolding as more crews arrived on scene.
“The smoke was billowing over the house.”
He added: “It looked really bad from what I could see.
“The one small blessing is that no one has been injured during this.
“I feel for the owners though that this has happened, especially just basically a month before Christmas.”
