A fire was set in an alleyway close to a Dundee supermarket on Tuesday morning.
Police have launched an investigation after a fire had to be extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue officers at 7am on Tuesday on a path to the east of Sainsbury’s supermarket on Tom Johnstone Road.
The blaze was promptly put out and it is understood the shop was not damaged.
Police would like to speak to a group of teenagers in connection with the incident, who were spotted in the area at the time.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers are keen to trace a groups of youths who were seen in the area at the time.
“Anyone with any information that may be useful should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting CR/26464/17 or speak to any police officer.
“Alternatively information can be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
