A Fife mum hopes to inspire others to take on lockdown projects after creating a stylish mud kitchen for her toddler out of old bits of wood.
At home with her 16 month old son Luca during lockdown, Sheryn Potts, like many other parents, is always looking for ways to keep her little one entertained.
And, inspired by an idea she found on Pinterest, she decided to transform some old bits of wood into a chic outdoor play kitchen.
Making the kitchen cost her just £10.
“My granddad’s a joiner and taught me things when I was younger so I’m interested in doing little projects like this, and upcycling,” said Sheryn, of Leven.
“I made it out of wooden pallets that were in the garden. Everything I used I had lying about and in cupboards.
“It was actually pretty easy. I just did it in my spare time at night when Luca was sleeping.”
The Fife Council worker said getting stuck into the project had been a diversion for both her and Luca while they are staying at home. She hopes it will inspire others to take on their own projects.
She added: “Luca’s quite a wee livewire and always needs stimulation. He likes kitchens and it felt really good making this. It was like a wee achievement.”
