A fire in a Fife industrial estate in the early hours of Monday is being investigated by police.
It is believed the blaze in Mitchelston Industrial Estate may have been started deliberately.
Firefighters were called out just before 12.30am to extinguish rubbish on waste ground between Merchant Place and Myregormie Place, behind Kirkcaldy Garden Centre.
People reported being able to smell smoke across the town.
No nearby buildings were affected and there were no reports of any casualties.
Two appliances were dispatched by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and it took almost an hour and a half to fully extinguish the blaze.
Police Scotland want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw any suspicious activity.
A spokesman said: “Around 12.34am on Monday, May 4 officers were called to the report of rubbish on fire in waste ground in Merchant Place in Kirkcaldy.
“The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.
“The fire is being treated as suspicious and enquiries have commenced.
“Anyone who may have been in the Merchant Place area just after midnight is asked to call police via 101 if they saw or heard anything suspicious, quoting the reference number 0092 of May 4, 2020.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “A call was received at 12.28am to rubbish fires.
“One hose reel jet and two jets were in use and the stop was at 1.54am. Police were in attendance.”
