Confirmation that the search for missing Perthshire teen Kathleen Harkin had ended in the most tragic fashion has been described as “heartbreaking” by local politician John Swinney.
The Perthshire North MSP said he had spoken to staff at Perth Grammar, where the 15-year-old’s friends have been offered comfort.
Mr Swinney said: “My heart goes out to the family of Kathleen Harkin and to her friends at Perth Grammar School.
“The news is heartbreaking and I cannot begin to imagine the devastation they will all feel.
“I have spoken to the head teacher at Perth Grammar and I know support is being provided for Kathleen’s school friends at school.
“I pray that Kathleen’s family and friends find peace at this desperately sad time.”
