The mum of a man who died in an alleged stabbing in Perth says she is overwhelmed with the public’s response to the tragedy.
Floral tributes have been laid by the River Tay in memory of Cameron Scott Rae – known as Cammy – who died on South Methven Street on Saturday night.
A man has been charged with murder following the death of the 20-year-old.
Kerry Burgess has thanked those who have rallied in the wake of her son’s passing.
She told The Courier: “I’m still just numb. However, I’m also so proud of Cameron.
“He was very much loved going by the tributes we have received. I’m so grateful to everyone for their thoughts and wishes.
“I’m also grateful for the fundraising that is being done on our behalf by so many people.”
The bunches of flowers laid at the Tay viewing point were accompanied by a banner donning Cameron’s name.
It comes as an online fundraiser launched in his memory has now passed £14,000.
The money is to help give Cameron the “best send off” at his funeral and to support his family.
Cameron was found with serious injuries on Saturday night and pronounced dead a short time later.
On Tuesday, 18-year-old Caleb Ferguson appeared at Perth Sheriff Court charged with murder.
Man, 18, accused of stabbing
He is accused of repeatedly stabbing Cameron with a knife or similar weapon at a flat on South Methven Street.
He is further accused of assaulting two people whose identities are unknown to prosecutors by punching and kicking them on the head and body.
Ferguson, also known as Nicoll, made no plea during his private appearance on petition.
The teenager, of Bute Drive, Perth, was remanded in custody and is due to make a second appearance next week.
