Forfar striker Dale Hilson has given fans a pre-Christmas present by signing a one-year contract extension.
That means Hilson, who scored the Loons’ two goals against Montrose last weekend, is committed to the Station Park club until the end of next season.
Midfielder Connor Coupe, who signed a six-month contract in the summer, has agreed to extend his stay until the end of the current campaign
Meanwhile, manager Jim Weir has asked his players to start off at East Fife today where they finished against the Gable Endies last weekend.
The Loons came from a goal down to win 2-1 thanks to the double from Hilson.
Weir said: “Our second-half performance was a lot better than the first.
“That was good to see as we were against the wind after the break but we managed to up our game and beat the elements as well as Montrose.
“We created a lot of chances in that second 45 minutes and asked a lot of questions of the Montrose defence.
“I was delighted that Dale got back on the scoresheet and his first goal was a fantastic strike whereas his second was the type of chance that he had not been taking.
“He did well, and the entire team did well in what was the perfect reaction to losing to Arbroath the week before.
“I now want that level of performance I saw in the second half for the full 90 minutes at East Fife.”
A win would lift Weir’s side above their hosts in the table, with the Station Park boss saying: “This league is so tight that runs of the same result are very important in this league. Win three games you are in the top half and lose three games you could be bottom.
“We have won one now and if we go on and win a second, we are creating a decent gap.
“If we are to win then we need to play better than we did in the last meeting when we lost 4-0.
“There were never four goals between the teams in terms of chances created but in terms of chances taken there was. It was harsh, but it is in our hands to make up for it.”
Michael Travis is available after a ban but Ross Meechan is a doubt after being ill. Aidan Wilson and Matthew Aitken remain on the sidelines through injury.
