Dundee have been handed a home draw in the Scottish Cup third round.

Former Dark Blues defender Christophe Berra made the draw at Hampden which saw his former side given a clash against a League One outfit.

Airdrieonians will be the visitors next month for new Dee boss Gary Bowyer’s first taste of the Scottish Cup.

The last meeting between the sides at Dens Park came back in 2010 with Airdrie winning 1-0 against Jocky Scott’s side.

Raith Rovers & Arbroath

Berra’s last club Raith Rovers were also handed a home tie as they welcome Auchinleck Talbot to Stark’s Park.

Talbot defeated Bo’ness United on penalties at the weekend to make it through to this stage.

Arbroath will head north to Aberdeenshire after being drawn away to Highland League side Fraserburgh.

The two sides have met previously in the Scottish Cup back in 2000.

The Broch held the Lichties to a 0-0 draw at Gayfield before the Angus side did the business, winning 3-1 in the replay at Bellslea Park.

Dick Campbell will hope his side will be able to do the business in 90 minutes this time around.

Dunfermline, Forfar, Montrose & Kelty Hearts

League One leaders Dunfermline will face League Two strugglers Forfar Athletic at East End Park.

That will see a reunion of former team-mates James McPake and Gary Irvine in the respective dugouts with both also working as coaches together at Dundee.

Montrose have been handed a tricky home tie with Darvel.

The West of Scotland League Premier Division side faced two of the Gable Endies’ Angus rivals in last seasons competition.

James McPake.
James McPake’s Dunfermline are top of League One.

They overcame Brechin in a replay before being knocked out by Arbroath.

Stewart Petrie will see the clash as an opportunity to progress further than they did in the competition last year, after being knocked out by Kelty Hearts on penalties.

Kelty, meanwhile, have been given a tough task away to Championship promotion hopefuls Partick Thistle.

John Potter’s men will be aiming to emulate last season’s strong run in the competition where they knocked out holders St Johnstone en route to the fifth round.
