Dundee have recruited Stephen Wright from Rangers to be their new Head of Youth, Courier Sport can reveal.
The appointment is a coup for the Dark Blues given the former Scotland international’s reputation in academy football.
He is currently the Head of the Intermediate Academy with the Glasgow club but has been persuaded to move to Dens Park and is set to start work next month after serving his notice with Rangers.
Wright had a successful playing career at Aberdeen, Rangers and Dundee United, among others.
The Dundee job will see him link up again with Jim McIntyre, who appointed him as a first team coach at Dunfermline a decade ago, then as head of youth development.
Wright was subsequently responsible for setting up the Fife Elite Academy.
