Dundee United manager Ray McKinnon has welcomed Dutch-born striker Felitciano Zschusschen on trial.

The Tangerines are keen to boost their options up front as they go head to head with Hibs for the Championship title and the 24-year-old Curacao international is being given the chance to win a deal.

Zschusschen, who has played for FC Twente, Dordrecht, NAC Breda and FC Oss in the Netherlands, trained with the Tannadice men at St Andrews yesterday and made an immediate impression on McKinnon.

The United boss said of the 6 ft 2 in trialist:  “He is in for a week’s training so we can have a look at him.

“I have seen video footage of him and he looks different class on that but we will now get a proper look at him.

“He has come highly recommended from a good contact in Holland.

“He trained with us today and was decent from the start.

“He scored a lot of goals in training and was getting in plenty of shots so we are hopeful.

“He is a big, powerful lad who also looks quick.

“We are looking around and if we can do something as regards getting people in then we will do it.

“Felitciano is an out-and-out number nine and he looks the part but we will have to assess his fitness.

“We would not be able to sign him until January anyway so that would give us a couple of weeks to get him up to speed if he impresses.”
