Brechin teenager Kacey Tasker dedicates herself to caring for others, particular her mum, gran and great granny.
Carer Kacey, 17, helps mum Jenna Lindsay who suffers from back problems, around the house, with her brothers and if Jenna needs to to go out.
And she helps her gran Barbara Lindsay, who has mental health problems, to function in everyday life, with household chores and getting outside.
She also helps her great granny Florence Barclay go out and get her shopping and volunteers at community centre The Crickety, in Brechin.
Barbara says her granddaughter is wonderful and as a gesture to show Kacey how much she thinks of her, Barbara nominated her for a Gold Star.
On receipt of the award, Kacey said: “I don’t mind doing any of it, it’s not a problem for me.
“I just like to help.
“If everyone else is happy, I’m happy.”
She said getting the Gold Star was “cool” and Barbara added: “That’s just wonderful, it will give her that little bit of a boost that she needs.
“She does a lot for us and we’re really grateful she’s here, I wish there was more I could do to reward her.
“She doesn’t realise how special she is and she probably doesn’t realise how much we appreciate her.”
As well as caring for her family, Kacey also attends 16 plus through The Crickety, a cooking group and online classes.
She said: “I would be totally lost without them (16 plus) they do a lot for me. I’m off to start voluntary work at Balhousie Care Home day care, and they helped me a lot with that and they make sure I’m ok.”
Barbara added: “She does a lot for herself as well and she’s had a tough year but she’s just got on with it – we’re so proud of her.”
